This site provides a general map of the terrain within higher education in the UK which has come to be known as flexible learning. It is intended to provide a useful resource to the sector, keeping track of developments, identifying examples of innovative practice, compiling a list of useful and pertinent literature, and offering comment and critique. It builds on the extensive work conducted by the UK's Higher Education Academy (HEA) from 2010 to 2015.
The site is designed and maintained by Dr Alison Le Cornu, SFHEA, who led the HEA's work in this field until October 2015. More about Alison can be found on the 'About' page. The site is constantly under development and may change on a daily basis. Alison works as a self-employed Consultant in Academic Practice specialising in Flexible Learning and has a national profile in this area of higher education. She is available for short, medium and long-term projects as a Consultant and can be contacted at firstname.lastname@example.org or via the Contact page of this website.
